Q. Can I host adult material?
A. Legal, non copyrighted material is allowed on all account levels.
Q. What is your policy on bandwidth?
A. We do not limit your transfer rate. Only the amount of data transferred per month. We do not throttle (limit) your bandwidth at all.
Q. How long does it take to setup my account and domain name?
A. New accounts are set up in less than 24 - 48 hours after the payment is made. Once an account is set up an activation notice will be sent to you via e-mail including your user-ID, password and FTP host-name. You can begin uploading files to your new web site immediately. Domain account users will be given a temporary URL to access their site via the web prior to the completion of either domain registration or domain modification.
Q. What does virtual domain mean?
A. A Virtual Domain means having your own domain name (http://www.your-name.com) without having to install expensive server hardware and software. With a Virtual Domain, you utilize our server's storage space, however, you are still professionally represented via your own personal Internet web address domain name (www.your-name.com) and by your own personal e-mail address domain name (you@your-name.com).
Q. Can I have another domain name pointing to my domain?
A. Yes, if you want another domain pointed to already existing content on your current domain with us we will do this free of charge. If you intend to set up a separate website however you will need to set up a new account.
Q. Who registers domain names?
A. We can register a domain for you during the signup process. Should you want to take care of domain registration yourself, that's fine as well.
Q. What if I go over my traffic allowance?
A. It is up to you to monitor traffic usage for your domain. The logs to do so can always be found at http://www.yourdomain.com/logs. Any additional bandwidth over what your plan specifies will be billed at $2.00/Gb.
Q. Can I get additional disk-space?
A. We'll be happy to upgrade you to a bigger plan that allows for more disk-space at any time. If you are already at the large plan level you can purchase more space at $5 per month for each additional 100Mb.
Q. How do I access my e-mail?
A. You will be able to retrieve your e-mail either by POP3, IMAP or by using webmail. Webmail is accessible by going to http://www.yourdomain.com:2082
Q. Does my website get a control panel?
A. Yes. You will have access to an extremely full featured control panel from where you can manage all aspects of your domain. You can access it by going to http://www.yourdomain.com:2082/
Q. How do I cancel my account?
A.
Should you wish to discontinue our service with us you can do so by sending
us an e-mail at support@monochrome.net. Please make sure to include your
full name, username and domain name in your e-mail. We will e-mail you back
one last time to confirm your cancellation and then we will de-activate
your account and stop billing within 24-48 hours. Please make sure you have
made arrangements to transfer your data before you cancel your account. All
your data will be deleted upon cancellation.
